Responsibilities would include:

Job Description:

Senior Accountant responsibilities include producing timely and accurate accounting reporting for assigned REIT investment portfolios. The individual is also responsible for performing the initial review of the daily and monthly deliverables through the running of daily controls, trial balance preparation and analytical analysis. The instrument scope of investments includes, but is not limited to, fixed income securities (including MBS, ABS), exchange traded derivatives, loans and repurchase agreements. In addition, Senior Accountants are responsible for providing answers to client questions on a daily basis.

  • Perform the daily and monthly processing, reconciliation, and reporting functions for traditional and complex asset types.

Consistently provide accurate, cost-effective and reliable implementations of its suite of products and services, including investment accounting platforms for both its Direct Clients and Licensed Clients.  Responsible for providing information and support to clients through the complete life cycle of the implementation phase.  Responds and troubleshoots problems through onsite and remote support. 

Specific functions include:

Team and Position Overview

 

The REIT financial reporting team supports many of the largest publically traded REITS in North America.  This person would be responsible for external financial reporting for our publically-traded (SEC) client base.  Responsibilities include being the primary account manager for one or multiple clients, being responsible for implementing best practice in the operations and management of clients, managing three to five staff in delivering accurate investment accounting, managing client projects, and assisting in the onboarding of new clients. Subject matter expert to support the preparation and review of financial statements and supporting footnotes for publicly traded companies.

 

Key Responsibilities:
 

Client Management

 

§  Heavy interaction with CFO and other members of the leadership team

  • Manage relationships with one or multiple clients – maintain KPIs, operational calls, and project management of client specific initiatives
  • Cross sell new services to clients
  • Ensure daily, monthly, and quarterly reports and trial balances are delivered timely and accurately to clients
  • Provide internal and external facing expertise on changes in the accounting and regulatory environments affecting clients

  • Lead the improvement of and control efficiency /effectiveness of the SEC reporting outsourcing service
  • Quarter-end review of financial statement disclosures and footnotes for 10Q and 10K

 

Required Qualifications

Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will be responsible for managing the cyber and physical security policies and communications as well as managing the Firm’s Business Continuity Disaster Recovery program.    Successful candidates will have a strong background in one or more of the above areas. He/she will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and indirectly to the General Counsel.

  • Consult with the General Counsel, CAO and CIO in the development and maintenance of cyber and physical security processes. Develop sound physical security policies, standards procedures and guidelines to ensure physical safety of employees and visitors and assist in their implementation firm wide.
  • Collaborate with senior staff including in the building and testing of BC/DR efforts, consistent with ISO22301 standards. Set the schedule for and lead all BC/DR efforts.  Report on current statuses to senior firm management.
  • Insure security best practices are applied and effectively administered, overseeing the ISO27001 and Safe Harbor processes. Devise policies and procedures regarding areas such as business continuity planning, fraud prevention, and privacy.
  • Respond to client questionnaires on security implementations and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with the changing laws and applicable regulations.
  • Translate that knowledge to identification of risks and actionable plans to protect the business.
  • Oversee security of the firm’s Vendors and Directors who secure the company's assets.
